Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues.

More Than Sad: Understanding Teen Depression

This program teaches parents how to recognize signs of depression and risk for suicide, initiate a conversation about mental health with their child, and get help.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

Community Services Boards (CSB), with support from DBHDS, continue to offer trainings to increase your knowledge and understanding around trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences, also known as ACEs. This toxic stress impacts brain development as well as our physical and mental health.

Seize the Awkward: A Conversation About Mental Health

Seize the Awkward is a 2-hour presentation that encourages 16-24 year olds to start a conversation with a friend who may be struggling with a mental health challenge. Through use of video, practice activities and group discussion, participants will learn how to reduce stigma around mental health, notice signs that a mental health problem might be brewing, start the conversation, and connect their friend to helpful people and resources.

Talk Saves Lives

In this 45-60 minute class, participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.
